Ayvalık Ayazma



Ayazma Holy Spring Center, also known as Panagia Faneromeni, is located in the center of Ayvalık, which is also known as the Ayvalık Sacred or Healing Waters. Panagia is a name given to the Virgin Mary in Orthodox belief. Faneromeni means revived or re-emerged. In 2018, the project to restore and renovate the worn-out and abandoned Ayazma Building in Ayvalık was opened to the public for everyone to visit.

Ayvalık Anatolian Civilizations Exhibition


In a joint project by Ayvalık Municipality and the Ayvalık Ayazma Association, a collection of 619 unique pieces from Ayşe Mina Esen, which carries the traces of Anatolian civilizations from the Chalcolithic Age to the Byzantine Period, is presented in the Ayvalık Anatolian Civilizations Exhibition curated by Necdet Bezmen. The collection includes baked clay, bronze, stone, iron, silver, bone, glass, and marble artifacts. Prominent pieces include the Beaked Spouted Jug, Cauldron, Candleholders, Cylinder Seals, Tablets, Spindle Whorls, Idols, Yortan Ceramics, Megara Bowls, Byzantine Crosses, Urartian Belts, Nike Statue, and Zeus Statue.
